I took the private beginners course and can't recommend Lycan's school enough! This was my first surf lesson and I was not only standing but riding waves on my second or third try. Best price I was able to find in Tamarindo and high quality instruction! Communication was easy when arranging the lesson and my instructor Kevin was so amazing. I can't wait to do another!

Me and my family had such a great experience with Lycans Surf School!! Had so much fun and got a lot of good pointers from Andre! If you are looking for a more personal and one-on-one experience then I can’t recommend Lycans enough!

Our family of 5 can’t say enough good things about Lycans. Andrey and his team taught my beginner wife and kids (11, 9, 6) and had them all up on their first wave! He also set me with a board to enjoy in the good times. Planning to hook up with Andrey on my next surf trip to the area with some buddies. Pura Vida!

I cannot recommend Lycans Surf School enough. Andrey was so patient, succinct with instructions, and helped me get up for the first time ever! 10 years ago I vowed to never try surfing again. Our 7yo son and I took lessons together and it was so great. He got our son comfortable on a surf board for his first time, then standing and surfing in one lesson!

Andres was an incredible instructor for 3 new surfers. He was kind, patient, and all of us learned how to surf! He also is out of the super touristy busy part of tamarindo which was really nice. Would recommend for anyone wanting to learn how to surf.

I had a private session with Jey and I can't recommend it more!! He was a fantastic teacher and a super nice person. He had great tips after falls and all the patience you need. I had never surfed before so we did an intro on the beach before heading out to the water. I felt well prepared for the water and safe out there with him. His energy is so positive and he cheers you on with a big smile on his face. I caught a bunch of waves for my first time and far exceeded my expectations. If you have the time, do it! Don't miss out on this fantastic experience!
